FABRICATOR

Polish, edge, and finish stone products according to quality standards.

THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Router custom stone profiles; shape, trim or touch up roughed-out design with appropriate tools in order to finish the product.
  • Reface and repair stone.
  • Maintain production in accordance with the design specifications, time/completion schedules, quality standards and employee safety.
  • Thorough working knowledge and understanding of machine tooling, safe operation of tools, inserts, and chip breaker function.
  • Drill or cut into stone; verifying depths and dimension of cuts and finishes.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled meetings and/or trainings as required by COO or management.
  • Adhere to all Company Safety and Health rules, employee Handbook, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned by COO and/or senior management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • At least two years of experience fabricating natural stone countertops.
  • Experience in stone fabrication industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with hand and power tools for granite installation.
  • General geological knowledge as applied to granite, marble and quartz preferred.
  • Forklift driving experience preferred.
  • Knowledge on Stone Material Handling
  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred but not required, contingent upon qualifying experience.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with clients and employees both verbally and written in the English language.
  • Ability to perform all types of edge work on stone; hone and refinish polished faces.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings; cut or shape stone according to drawings and/or templates.
  • Ability to perform basic and complex geometric and algebraic mathematical computations. It also requires the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, bar graphs, ratios and proportions to complex and practical situations.
  • General and practical knowledge of measuring tools, power tools, and equipment utilized in the tile and stone industry.
  • Willingness to adapt to and accept constructive feedback and implement necessary corrections in a timely manner.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., eyeglasses, noise reducing equipment, waterproof gear, and steel toe shoes).
  • Ability to push, pull, and carry materials 50-100 lbs. and prolonged standing.

YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

SALES DESIGN CONSULTANT 

Serve as a residential sales representative of Brekhus Tile and Stone during the sales, design and construction phases of a project.

THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Greet walk-in customers, field phone inquiries, and ensure the showroom is adequately staffed; provide initial introduction to the company and services available.
  • Support multiple customers simultaneously and in a timely manner.
  • Support other team members courteously and in a timely manner.
  • Work in collaboration with direct supervisor and showroom teammates to ensure showroom coverage during store operation hours.
  • Meet monthly sales quotas.
  • Increase revenue from established customers, and generate additional revenue from new customers by using proper sales techniques, problem-solving skills, and account management.
  • Initiate sales and provide on-going support for customers and staff for projects in accordance with local, state, and federal codes, in alignment with Company specifications.
  • Based on knowledge of current trends in the tile industry, provide expert consultation in the design of a project that meets the needs of our clients.
  • Demonstrate proactive, professional, and effective communication in collaborating with team members and clients to design, sell, and produce residential and commercial projects.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain positive working relationships with new and past clients.
  • Responsible for administrative duties such as keeping showroom stocked with sales forms, maintains visible standards for showroom, tile library, and slab yard; design new displays as needed.
  • Assist the design staff with projects (i.e., completing 20/20 cabinet design documents, AutoCAD drawings, research pricing for new projects, etc.)
  • Submit recommendations and suggestions to management designed to improve sales, efficiency or operations of the department or the company.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Employee Handbook and Safety & Health Manual; federal and state OSHA regulations.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned by senior management staff.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Experience & Education

  • 1-2 years previous experience in Tile & Stone Design Sales.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge and experience in using 20/20 and reading blueprints a must.
  • Knowledge of SAGE100 project management system in a plus.
  • General knowledge and understanding of design principles.

PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

The Project Manager/Estimator will be accountable to sell/bid, estimate, schedule, and oversee all aspects of construction projects, and those of your project team. Hands-on management is a must. You will maintain existing relationships while forging new ones with clients, architects, construction managers, brokers, property managers, and subcontractors. Supervise project team and oversee quality & efficiency.

DRAFTER/PROJECT COORDINATOR

CAD drafters coordinate the collection of data and incorporate such information into drawings, schematics, and maps for stone fabrication and installations. They consult with the project managers/Estimators, Scheduler, and Field department to prepare and present project drawings. Coordinate with Project managers to assist in projects.

THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assists commercial team, under the direct supervision of the Sr. designer, with product submittals, close out documents, project folders, and material pricing for new bids, and assist with any other day to day tasks that the commercial team needs.
  • Assist in the coordination of the phase structure for each project; assure all paperwork is up to date in the G drive.
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity, professionalism and honesty with customers, Brekhus Tile & Stone and Brekhus Marble & Granite staff and subcontractors; not divulge to outside parties’ information of a confidential nature pertaining to the company’s operations or bids.
  • Research and provide accurate information pertaining to any phase of any BTS or BMG projects.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, seminars, and/or trainings pertaining to the marketing/drafter function as senior management (including direct supervisor) requests.
  • Meet deadlines for shop drawings and print ads.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with all team members, including senior management, supervisors, and team members.
  • Adhere to the company’s policy and procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a drafter in the design/construction industry.
  • Experience with design/measuring programs such as, AutoCAD, OST Takeoff, & Photoshop.
  • Thorough understanding of all project document requirements including contract, project plans, and project specifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working environment will include office and may include traveling to jobsites. INSTALLER

Primary responsibility will be the installation of custom tile and stone in residential and commercial projects.

THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints or numbered sequences; seek any work order clarification from the Field Superintendent or Superintendent.
  • Clean and level the surface to be tiled; remove any old tile, grout and adhesive using chisels and scrapers and clean the surface carefully.
  • Mix mortar, plaster, or grout manually or using machines, according to specifications.
  • Mix and apply appropriate adhesives to form a bed for the tiles using brush, trowel, and/or screed; attach lath or waterproof paper, or apply cement mortar coat onto a metal screen.
  • Utilize and maintain all company tools and machines according to company policy.
  • Erect scaffolding or other installation structures.
  • Apply caulk, sealants, or other agents to installed surfaces; grout between joints.
  • Cut or shape stone, tile, or granite to specified sizes for installation, using power saws or tile cutters.
  • Transport materials, tools, and machines to installation sites as required.
  • Move or position materials, such as marble slabs, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Communicate effective daily progress to Field Superintendent, including continuous communication as necessary for scheduling purposes.
  • Complete time cards accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to and inspect quality control
  • Monitored inventory levels for jobs ensuring correct amount of product on hand
  • Report issues, changes and/or inventory to the Lead Installer, or Field Superintendent.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as assigned by senior management.
  • Assist in the development and learning of Jr. Installers.
